Job interviewing can be a stressful process to overcome. Every job interview will go differently. Here are some tips you can follow to be best prepared!
Know what you are talking about.
Do some research on the company/organization and the responsibilities of the position that you are applying to be a part of. When they ask you questions, it’ll make you seem knowledgeable and serious about getting the job.
Ask questions.
No question is a dumb question. Even if you know the answer to something, ask a question or two anyways. Some things to get clarification on are your schedule, pay, responsibilities, expectations, benefits, work environment, etc. It will make you seem like you’re interested and always eager to learn more.
Practice.
Although there is no way of knowing which exact questions you will be asked, there are always some common ones that you can expect. Check out this list of some generic ones: https://www.glassdoor.com/blog/common-interview-questions/. Remember that there is no right or wrong answer!
Be honest and confident.
There is a good chance that they will ask you about your past experiences and future goals. Although those words will be on your resume professionally, it is a good idea to add some personality to it when asked to talk about it. Highlight the most important things you have learnt and been a part of. Being confident in your answers will show that you are passionate about the work that you do.
Follow up.
Once the interview is over, send an email thanking them once again for their time. Follow up with the next step and time frame of when you should expect to hear back from them. If they offer you any recommendations or suggestions, appreciate their help and take it as a learning experience!
Good luck!
