This dynamic program helps students develop public speaking skills through peer-reviewed discussions. In a structured setting, an inner circle debates a topic while the outer circle listens, reflects, and provides feedback. Unlike Socratic seminars, Fishbowl increases participation, ensuring every student has a chance to speak and listen. This approach enhances critical thinking, broadens perspectives, and fosters confidence in expressing ideas. By engaging in thoughtful dialogue, students learn to articulate viewpoints, challenge assumptions, and build meaningful discussions in a supportive environment, making learning interactive, inclusive, and impactful
What happens in the class
In Fishbowl, a small inner circle shares their thoughts first, while the outer circle listens, reflects, and processes. Each class covers topics like ‘Cats vs. Dogs?’ or ‘Math vs. Reading?’ and much more to spark debate and engagement. Our well-experienced instructors ensure each student gets personalized attention, guiding discussions so every voice is heard. Each student in the inner circle gets a turn before roles reverse. The outer circle observes without speaking, then joins the discussion when switched. This format builds articulation, active listening, and respectful debate. Engaging topics foster critical thinking, making learning interactive, fun, and confidence-boosting.
