Taiwanese-born American pianist I-Wen has performed in the Rutgers International Pianists Gala and Unknown Diabelli Project with Rutgers pianists at the Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall, Vienna Concerto Fest in Austria, Recital Series at the Taipei Economics and Cultural Office in New York, American Liszt Society recital in San Francisco, An Die Muzik and Engineer’s Club at the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion in Baltimore, Wien Saal in Salzburg, Salle Cortot in Paris, Sala dei Notari in Perugia, Army Hall in Sarajevo, Ben Gurion University of Negev in Israel, Shanghai Spring International Music Festival and Hunan International Music Festival in China. Wang was invited to perform the world premiere of Hester’s piano suite with electroacoustic music in the Santa Cruz Contemporary Music Festival at the University of California, Santa Cruz (2015). Her performance has been recorded and broadcast in the McGraw Hill Young Artists Showcase sponsored by WQXR radio. She has won numerous awards, including second prize at the Svirél International Music Competition in Slovenia (2018), “Il V ° Concorso Internazionale di Roma, organizzato dall'Associazione Culturale «Melos » in Italy (2018), and the North International Music Competition in Sweden (2017); first prize at the International Internet Music Competition in Bosnia and Herzegovina (2017), the Classical Viennese Festival of Seattle International Piano Competition (2017), Chamber Music Honors Competition at Rutgers (2018 and 2016), and the Round Top Institute Festival Chamber Music Competition (2013). Wang received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees of music in piano with a full scholarship from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music; graduate performance diploma in piano and chamber music from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. Notably, she is the first piano major to receive the chamber music degree in Peabody’s 150 years history Wang was a Piano Fellow to the Round Top Festival Institute (2013) and Banff Centre (2012). She is currently completing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
